"He Who Shall Not Be Fact Checked" (Draft January 15, 2011; original 10/09)

Andrew Exum is a Fellow at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). CNAS will help run the "Joining Forces" program along with Gen. McChrystal. Exum is an ex-Ranger oficer with close personal and professional ties with McChrystal. Exum contributed to the whitewash of McChrystal. After betraying the Tillman family, these guys are supposed to "support" our military families?

"Throwing My Shoe at Bob Woodward ... Not" (DRAFT January 2011)

This is a draft document. Most of this material was written during January 2011. I’ve got the raw material here, but I need to clean things up and add a Title Page, TOC, Introduction, and Executive Summary. But, in the meantime, here’s what there now:

1.) BOB WOODWARD’S WHITEWASH OF GEN.MCCHRYSTAL’S ROLE IN THE TILLMAN COVER-UP

Summary of Woodward’s coverage of the Tillman affair based on his book “Obama’s Wars” and his 12/13/10 NPR interview comments.

2.) Guy Montag’s Rebuttal of Woodward’s Portrayal of Gen. McChrystal’s Role in the Tillman Case:

Here I tear apart Woodward’s whitewash, as well as that by President Obama and the Democratic Congress.

3.) “CLASHES WITH PENTAGON SHAPED “OBAMA’S WARS” Neal Conan Interview with Bob Woodward (NPR’s Talk of the Nation, December 13, 2010

Here’s a partial transcript of the interview where I called in and asked Woodward about the backstory to McChrystal’s firing and his take on how Washington handled the Tillman affair.

4.) “OBAMA’S WARS” (Bob Woodward, 2010 hardcover)

My organized notes that highlight Woodward’s coverage of the Tillman affair, McChrystal, and Petreaus Lots of nuggets spread throughout the book, these notes make it easier to connect the dots

5.) “THROWING MY SHOE AT BOB WOODWARD”

Posts by CNAS’s Andrew Exum at his Abu Mugawama blog about Woodward’s books in late 2010, followed by my commentary.
